What is Harry Potter?

First of all, please don't take offense but... what rock have you been living under? Haha... Harry Potter is one of the most popular children's book series in the world right now, and at the rate it's going I don't suppose it will be stopping anytime soon. Written by J.K. Rowling, the books follow a young wizard, Harry Potter, through his years at the amazing Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Of course, there's more to things than that - Harry has been famous ever since his birth. Although he lives with his Muggle (read: non magical) relatives, who are pretty nasty folk, he was the son of two very powerful wizards. In addition to this impressive lineage, he also has a legendary scar on  his head, a souvenir of the spell that Vol-Vol... He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named used on him. Anyway, there's definitely a lot more to the books than I can explain in a short paragraph - let's just say, quidditch, magical creatures, and overall amazing creativity and imagination on J.K. Rowling's part. These are some extremely well-written books, engaging and fun. CHECK THEM OUT!

What is Hogwarts?

Hogwarts, or Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy, which is its full title, is an exclusive wizarding school. It is also the school on which Nouvelesprit is loosely based on, at least in the terms of houses and some of the classes. Hogwarts offers seven years of magical instruction to lucky young wizards, and is currently headed by Albus Dumbledore.
